Orland Historical Society Photograph Collection
One of the ongoing projects of the Orland Historical Society is to collect, copy, and preserve photographs that capture Orland's history and heritage. Over the past few decades, volunteers have put in countless hours identifying photograph collections and obtaining permission to copy them. Owners of such photographs are also encouraged to donate them to the Orland Historical Society where they will be preserved instead of being thrown out some day. Once the photographs are donated or copied, they are analyzed (identifying the people and objects in the picture, who the photographer was, and when and where the photograph was taken) and cataloged - a process that also takes a great deal of time. In this exhibit is a small sampling showing over 100 of the photographs in the Collection. Please enjoy viewing them. If you see a photograph where you might be able to provide more information about the subjects than we have listed, please contact us. Check back often as we expect to add much more of the
Collection to this site.
