World War I Bond Drive Parade

| Description |
A World War I Flag Raising and Bond Drive to help finance the American war effort in France. The rally was held in the parking lot located across the street from Schmaedeke's Implement Store at the corner of 143rd Street and Beacon Avenue (what is now the 143rd Street Metra station. A man on a white horse bearing the Bond Drive flag leads the parade. The horse has just turned north on to Beacon Avenue after heading west on 144th Street. The building on the far right is a house. A band is nearing the intersection about to turn north on to Beacon Avenue. Many people follow behind the band. |
