Description
A view of the Village of Orland Park from the water tower located on the east side of Beacon Avenue near 144th Street. The butcher shop is in the center of the picture. Houses and stores are visible along the streets. A tavern and Schmaedeke's Store are also visible along Beacon Avenue in the foreground. Animals were delivered to the rear of the butcher shop and the meat was sold in the shop in the front. The building burned down and later the Orland State Bank's original building was built on the same site on what is now Antique Row.
