| Description |
A World War I Flag Raising and Bond Drive to help finance the American war effort in France. The rally was held in the parking lot located across the street from Schmaedeke's Implement Store at the corner of 143rd Street and Beacon Avenue (what is now the 143rd Street Metra station. Notice that Southwest Highway has not been built yet). The view is from above and shows the platform, automobiles, and buildings in the background. The coal car standing in the railway yard and Davidson's are visible in the background. |
