| Description |
A World War I Flag Raising and Bond Drive to help finance the American war effort in France. The rally was held in the parking lot located across the street from Schmaedeke's Implement Store at the corner of 143rd Street and Beacon Avenue. Boys and girls are in two rows on a float. The girls are nurses with a red cross on their head scarves. The boys are in white shirts with decorated hats and flags. The girl at the left is the Statue of Liberty. The man at the right has a decorated hat and may be Uncle Sam. |
